Support for Jervis Bay Territory businesses

Today I am pleased to announce that eligible businesses located in the Jervis Bay Territory (JBT) are now able to apply for assistance under the NSW COVID-19 business support scheme. The Australian Government will provide funding to the NSW Government to enable JBT businesses affected by the NSW Public Health Orders restricting freedom of movement, gatherings and the ability of certain businesses to operate from 26 June 2021 to access the scheme.

I would like to thank the NSW Government for extending this support to businesses in the JBT who have been hit hard by COVID-19 lockdowns and travel restrictions in the territory.

To access the support, businesses will need to meet the relevant eligibility criteria, including showing that the Public Health Order has resulted in a 30 per cent or more decline in their turnover.

Eligible businesses may be able to receive assistance under one or more of the business support programs including the NSW 2021 COVID-19 Business Grant, the NSW 2021 COVID-19 Micro-business Grant and the JobSaver payment.

The NSW 2021 COVID-19 Business Grant is for businesses with turnover between $75,000 and $50 million (inclusive) that experienced reduced demand or had to close during the first 3 weeks of the restrictions (26 June to 17 July 2021). It is a one-off payment of $7,500, $10,500 or $15,000 to assist with cash flow support for this time. Services NSW will work with eligible businesses to apply. See Apply for the 2021 COVID-19 business grant.

Businesses with a turnover between $75,000 and $250 million may be eligible for the JobSaver program which is a fortnightly payment to help eligible businesses maintain their employee headcount from 18 July onwards. Applications are through Service NSW and close at 11:59pm on 18 October 2021. See Apply for the JobSaver payment.

Businesses with a turnover between $30,000 and $75,000 may be eligible for the 2021 COVID-19 Micro‑business Grant. This is a fortnightly payment of $1,500 per fortnight to cover business expenses for the period in which they experience a decline in turnover as a result of the Public Health Order from 26 June 2021. Applications are through Service NSW and close at 11:59pm on 18 October 2021. See Apply for the 2021 COVID-19 Micro Business Grant.
