The City is calling on residents and businesses to support Geelong Night of Lights this evening.
From 9pm to 9.30pm, we invite everyone to light up Geelong for a moment of solidarity as we acknowledge our community’s resilience and demonstrate our hope for the new year. Several Geelong organisations have confirmed their involvement and we will bring you photos on social media this evening..
For 30 minutes from 9pm, turn on your Christmas lights, crack some glow sticks or shine your torch, joining homes and businesses across Greater Geelong.
Share your photos by using hashtag #geelongnightoflights on social media to share messages of love and optimism for the new year.
We will share photos and video on social media of the lights going on at a range of locations across Greater Geelong, including Kardinia Park Stadium and a number of other supporters.
And don’t forget to tune into the Geelong Night of Lights broadcast on bay 93.9 and, if you can, donate to the Geelong Giving Tree Appeal to help support vulnerable Geelong families in need.
