Over $10 million in Immediate Work Grants and Business Improvement Scheme works has been approved across the Territory, creating local jobs and support Territory businesses.
The schemes, which was part of The Territory Labor Governments $65 million Jobs Rescue & Recovery Plan, helps small businesses and community organisations undertake improvements to their shops or premises to bring in more customers and help them keep their staff in jobs.
Combined over 1500 applications were received, with over 800 already approved or under assessment – resulting in an estimated economic impact of around $18 million.
The NT Government has also announced the signing off of the Federal Government’s HomeBuilder program which provides eligible owner-occupiers with grants of $25,000 to build or substantially renovate an existing home.
The Territory is one of the first jurisdictions to commit to the scheme, which complements the Labor Government’s BuildBonus program.
