Supporting Territory Families: Continued Roll Out of Sport Voucher Scheme

The Territory Labor Government is reducing the cost of living for Territory families by continuing to deliver the Sport Voucher Scheme.

The Urban Sport Voucher Scheme helps families with the cost of organised sport, recreation and cultural activities.

The vouchers are available to every child enrolled in school from preschool to year 12, including home-schooled children.

Families with children enrolled in urban schools are entitled to a $100 sport voucher each semester to help with the cost of their child participating in a chosen sport, active recreation or cultural activity – and can be used at more than 350 registered venues.

At the end of October 2019 15,999 Urban Sport Vouchers were issued, with 8224 redeemed.

Under the scheme, the remote sport voucher program is delivered via local councils and providers working together to organise sport, active recreation and cultural activities for children living in remote communities.
