Federation Council is inviting the community to have their say on the key priorities and strategies that guide your Council today.

Every four years, following an ordinary election of Councillors, Council must review the Community Strategic Plan (CSP). In preparation of this process, Council has begun reviewing and updating the CSP, supported by the launch of a community survey.

The ‘Our Community – Our Opportunity’ Federation Council Community Strategic Plan 2018-2028 is the highest long-term plan for our community.

It reflects our vision, aspirations and priorities for the future and outlines how we will work together to achieve these goals. It maps our journey of:

  • Where are we now?
  • Where do we want to be in ten years’ time?
  • How will we get there?
  • How will we know we’ve arrived?

Council’s role is to guide the community and other key stakeholders through important conversations about what kind of region we want the Federation Council LGA to be by 2028 and what the priorities and aspirations of our diverse communities are for the future.

Federation Council Mayor, Cr Pat Bourke said Council was looking forward to reviewing the CSP and engaging with the community to inform the revision of the plan.

“A lot has happened since the creation of the Community Strategic Plan since its creation in 2018,” Mayor Bourke said.

“Council look forward to re-engaging with the community on our highest long-term plan and re-assessing our aspirations and priorities moving forward. This process will also assist in mapping together how we achieve our goals moving forward and where our focus needs to be as a Council in the services we deliver.”

Council is committed to informed and transparent consultation and decision-making and will use a range of engagement techniques to ensure our community and other stakeholders have the opportunity to have their say and provide meaningful input.

Council encourages you to take part in the survey online or by completing a hardcopy of this survey and returning it to any one of our Council Offices in Corowa, Howlong, Mulwala and Urana. All surveys are required to be submitted by 5pm, Tuesday 1 March 2022.
