Suspect located after police pursuit at Black Forest, South Australia

A police dog patrol has located a man hiding in a rear yard at Black Forest, following a police pursuit involving a stolen car.

Just after 7pm on Friday 29 November, a police patrol spotted a stolen grey Jeep SUV travelling south on Churchill Road at Prospect.

The patrol attempted to stop the vehicle but the driver refused and it was followed onto Torrens Road, then through North Adelaide, Medindie and then onto Port Road at Thebarton.

The stolen car continued south on James Congdon Drive then onto South Road through Mile End and Ashford, before turning into Emerson Road a dead end street near the Emerson Railway Crossing.

The male driver then dumped the stolen SUV and ran off, jumping fences. Police patrols quickly converged on the area, setting up cordons and calling in police dog Jax.

A quick search of nearby properties located the driver hiding in some bushes.

The 29-year-old man from Elizabeth North was arrested and charged with illegal use, driving to evade police and theft of petrol.

The arrested man has been refused police bail and will appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Monday 2 December.

The Jeep SUV was stolen from an Elizabeth address in the early hours of Friday morning.

There were no injuries or damage to any vehicles during the pursuit.
