Suspicious car fire, Hervey Bay area

Police are investigating after a stolen car was destroyed by fire in Hervey Bay overnight, June 20.

Initial investigations suggest the 2008 Holden Colorado was driven to a dirt track along Doolong Road, Wondunna around 6.20pm and set on fire.

It’s understood a second unknown vehicle, a white dual cab ute with a canopy, followed the car to the location and picked up at least one offender, before fleeing west along Doolong Road.

The Holden Colorado was stolen from Hillyard Street, Pialba earlier that day.

Police are seeking anyone with any CCTV or dashcam vision of either of the cars to contact police.
