Police are investigating the sudden death of a woman at Varsity Lakes this afternoon.
At 1.30pm, emergency services were called to an address at Gerona Circuit where they located an 82-year-old woman deceased inside the residence.
An 82-year-old man was taken to the Gold Coast University hospital where he remains under police guard.
A crime scene has been declared, as officers piece together the details leading up to the woman’s death, which is being treated as suspicious.
