Coober Pedy Police are investigating a suspicious fire overnight which damaged several cars in the impound yard attached to the police complex.
Just before 8pm, Thursday 19 January, station staff became aware of a grass fire at the rear of the station. The fire spread under the rear perimeter fence of the impound yard and damaged several vehicles before CFS crews were able to extinguish it.
No one was injured and Crime Scene examiners will attend the station in the morning.
