Suspicious school fire in Granville, QLD

Detectives are investigating a suspicious fire at a school in Granville last night.

At approximately 11.50pm (Monday, March 28) police were called to a school on Cambridge Street in relation to multiple alarm activations.

Initial investigations indicate a wheelie bin had been deliberately lit, causing the fire to spread to a nearby building, causing significant damage. Officers also located a second fire across the road in Queens Park.

Police have declared a crime scene and are urging anyone that may have seen any suspicious activity around the area to contact police.

Investigations are ongoing.
