Preston police are investigating following the theft of a diamond ring from Preston Jeweller earlier this month.
Investigators have been told an unknown man first attended a games shop at the Murray Road shopping complex about 12.30pm on 13 July.
The man took a ‘legend of Zelda – master sword lamp’ from the store without making any attempt to pay.
He removed the blunt tip replica sword from the lamp base and pocketed it before discarding the lamp base and packaging.
The man then attended a jeweller at the same complex and asked to try on a diamond ring.
Once the ring was on his finger he ran from the store.
Investigators have released CCTV images of a man who they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.
