Sydney’s 24-hour economy set to boom

NSW Government

The 24-Hour Economy Strategy will help drive investment, create more jobs and transform Sydney into a vibrant 24-hour destination.

The NSW Government’s 24-Hour Economy Strategy will revamp Sydney and help businesses and jobs recover from the economic impacts of COVID-19.

Working with industries, businesses and councils, the strategy will provide opportunities in the Sydney CBD and surrounding suburbs. This will include jobs in the arts, hospitality, entertainment, retail and event industries.

A Coordinator General team will form to implement the strategy, working with the strategy’s five strategic pillars to transform Sydney.

Minister for Jobs, Investment, Tourism and Western Sydney Stuart Ayres said COVID-19 has hit the tourism, hospitality and the arts sectors hard.

“This strategy sets out a pathway to activate home-grown events that create safe opportunities for people to enjoy across Sydney,” Mr Ayres said.
