MEDIA RELEASE 16 October 2026
Australian longevity and wellbeing brand TAIK Health has launched its first product, TAIK Functional Instant Coffee, encouraging consumers to look beyond familiar ingredient names to the amount in each serve and the evidence behind health claims.
SYDNEY, 16 October 2026: TAIK Health, the Australian longevity and wellbeing platform co-founded by Professor Hosen Kiat, launched TAIK Functional Instant Coffee, a cardiologist-formulated functional coffee with a 5 Health Star Rating, at Crown Sydney on Thursday 15 October during a media briefing on preventative health and healthy ageing.
The Australian-made instant coffee was formulated with Professor Kiat and combines Robusta coffee with oat beta-glucan, coconut-derived MCTs and Ceylon cinnamon. Each serve provides 2.3g of dietary fibre, including 1g of oat beta-glucan, and 140mg of caffeine, comparable to a strong café-brewed coffee. It contains no added sugar, dairy, artificial flavours or preservatives.
The launch comes as functional beverages move into the mainstream, with new products often marketed on ingredient names rather than on the amount delivered per serve. TAIK is positioning the coffee on transparency: what is in each serve, how much, and what the evidence does and does not show.
Professor Kiat, who has authored more than 200 peer-reviewed publications and is ranked among the top 1% of clinical medicine researchers worldwide in Stanford University’s global rankings, said: “A well-known ingredient does not, on its own, prove a finished drink delivers a health benefit. People should know what is in each cup, how much is there, and what the research actually shows.”
What’s in each cup
The coffee is made with 100% premium Robusta coffee. Oat beta-glucan, a soluble oat fibre, provides the dietary fibre. Coconut-derived MCTs contribute to the coffee’s smooth, creamy finish. Each serve contains 0.6g of saturated fat. TAIK chose Ceylon cinnamon over cassia for its naturally lower coumarin content.
TAIK Functional Instant Coffee is currently available at taikhealth.com, through Mr Vitamins online and in-store, and via BIG W online, with an RRP of $29.99 for a box of 10 sachets. TAIK is also working to expand its Australian retail footprint and explore international distribution opportunities.
“Coffee is already part of many people’s routines, so we started there, with a formulation we can explain ingredient by ingredient,” Professor Kiat said. “Our aim is to connect a familiar habit to a wider conversation about healthy ageing.”
TAIK Health’s platform is built around five PRIME habits: Purpose, Rest, Interaction, Movement and Eating. The company positions the coffee within that approach to everyday habits rather than as a solution to healthy ageing in itself.
Clinicians across disciplines
Professor Kiat was joined at the briefing by ophthalmologist and corneal surgeon Dr Tanya Trinh and dermatologist and phlebologist Dr Adrian Lim for a discussion spanning heart, eye and skin health. Dr Trinh and Dr Lim contribute as unpaid TAIK Clinical Collaborators, speaking in their own professional capacities.
