Take Sustainability Challenge and WIN

Send in your photos of your home sustainability projects, along with a short explanation for your chance to win a prize! These short competitions are designed to help us through this challenging time while learning about sustainability and having fun at home.


Prizes

The following prizes are up for grabs:

  • First Prizes:
    • Compost bin (valued at $60)
    • Worm Farm (valued at $55)
    • 1 year membership to The Diggers Club (valued at $59)
  • Second prizes:
    • Indoor Plants (valued from $9 – $30)
    • The Milkwood Book – Real Skills for Down-to-Earth Living by Kirsten Bradley and Nick Ritar (valued at $45)
    • The Lorax: How to Save the Planet Edition by Dr Seuss (valued at $30)
  • Third prizes: 
    • 2040 Documentary DVD (valued at $16)
    • Plastic Free Starter Kit (valued at $20)
    • Vegetable Plant Seedlings (valued $4 – $10) or Vegetable Seeds (valued $3 ea)
    • Herb Plants (valued $4 – $10) or Herb Seeds (valued $4.45 ea)

Categories

There are three categories to enter:

  1. Children under the age of 15 – Re-use items/materials for another sustainable and fun purpose:
    • Please submit an explanation or your re-purpose and a photo with your item/s.
    • An example is bottle planters/watering devices/cups.
    • Photos will not be used without parental permission.
  2. Anyone (including families as a team) – Build a sustainable scarecrow:
    • Please submit an explanation and photos of your scarecrow with what items you up-cycled/re-used and the scarecrow’s name.
  3. Anyone (Including families as a team) – Sustainable veggie patches:
    1. Made over or made from scratch, send in a before and after photo of your veggie patch/box/planter and a few words on what varieties you have planted.

How to enter

To enter, simply complete the online entry form below.

Entries close at 5pm on Friday, 25 September 2020 and will be awarded by the Sustainability Working Group at Council on the 16th September 2020. Only prize winners will be contacted and the winners released via Councils Facebook page.
