Taskforce Falcon charge man with allegedly coordinating the attempted murder of man and teenage girl – Fairfield West

Taskforce Falcon detectives have charged a man with allegedly coordinating the attempted murder of a man and teenage girl in Sydney’s south-west earlier this year.

About 3pm on Tuesday 9 June 2026, officers attached to Fairfield City Police Area Command were called to Hamilton Road in Fairfield West after a man pointed a handgun towards a 44-year-old man sitting in a ute parked in a driveway. The driver’s 15-year-old daughter was in the ute at the time.

The pair left the vehicle and the gunman ran away. Both were distressed but not physically injured by the incident.

Local police commenced inquiries before the investigation was handed to State Crime Command’s Taskforce Falcon under Strike Force Gelaro.

Following extensive inquiries, about 1.25pm yesterday (Wednesday 14 October 2026), strike force detectives – with assistance from Raptor Squad – arrested a 19-year-old man during a vehicle stop in Sans Souci.

At the same time, police executed a search warrant in Cronulla where they allegedly seized a knife, an amount of illicit drugs and electronic devices.

He was taken to Sutherland Police Station where he was charged with:

  • Two counts of attempt to discharge loaded arms at a person with intent to murder
  • Install/use a tracking device to find an object without consent
  • Supply prohibited drugs on an ongoing basis
  • Knowingly direct activities of a criminal group
  • Supply a prohibited drug greater than a small quantity and less than an indictable quantity
  • Possess or use a prohibited weapon without a permit

The 19-year-old was refused bail to appear at Sutherland Local Court today (Thursday 15 October 2026).
