Jeremy Rockliff,Minister for Education and Training

Tasmania’s 11 finalists in the Australian Training Awards 2019 are today heading off to the national awards ceremony in Brisbane, to compete against finalists from all states and territories.

Tasmania’s national finalists progressed to the Australian Training Awards following their category wins in the Tasmanian Training Awards in September.

The final winners of the national awards will be determined following four days of intensive presentations, judging, workshops and networking.

We wish all of our national finalists the best of luck and know they will do Tasmania proud.

The Training Awards recognise the achievements of apprentices, trainees and vocational students who strive for the highest standards of knowledge and skills within their industry.

They also recognise industry, employers and training organisations dedicated to providing high quality training and improving the skills of our workforce.

The Hodgman majority Liberal Government recognises that vocational education and training is one of the best ways for young Tasmanians to find the right path for their future and a rewarding life-long career.

We are committed to ensuring that Tasmania has the job ready generation it needs to support our growing economy.

The national winners will be announced at a gala dinner on Thursday, 21 November 2019 at Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre.
