Tasmania is the only state in the country that has both positive business confidence and conditions, according to the latest NAB Business Survey.
Premier Jeremy Rockliff said this was a strong indicator Tasmania is heading in the right direction.
“Our 2030 Strong Plan for Tasmania’s Future is providing the framework needed for our economy and businesses to be resilient,” the Premier said.
“Ground has broken at Macquarie Point, with businesses across the state preparing for this significant economic enabler.
“We have taken strong action to support the Northern economy, including investing to attract more business events and elevating independent brewers in the region through a beer trail and weekend.
“Our Northern Economic Plan will be released at the end of August.
“Tasmania’s record $5 billion in exports is putting money into the pockets of Tasmanians and their families while allowing them to reinvest back into their business.
“Unemployment continues to have a four in front of it, we have a $40 billion 10-year infrastructure pipeline and Marinus is moving forward.
“There is plenty happening, all of it is working to supporting Tasmanian jobs and Tasmanian families.”
