Tasmanian Women’s Strategy survey

Jane Howlett,Minister for Women

The Tasmanian Liberal Government continues to progress our commitment towards gender equality in our State.

Public consultation is underway on the new Tasmanian Women’s Strategy 2022-25. The Strategy will provide a clear framework for the Government to support gender equality.

A public survey is now open to inform the development of the new Strategy. The survey will help to ensure the Strategy reflects the diverse views and experiences of Tasmanian women.

It will also inform the development of a number of key projects and election commitments in the Women’s Portfolio – including the development of a Modern Workplaces Framework, a Women in Building and Construction Strategy, and implementation of the Women on Boards Strategy 2020-25.

A similar public survey was undertaken in 2017 to inform development of the Tasmanian Women’s Strategy 2018-21. It received approximately 1,300 responses. That survey has been revised to ensure it is contemporary, including questions regarding the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, and I hope that even more women will have their say this year.

The survey is now available at: www.communities.tas.gov.au/csr. The survey closes on 15 November 2021.
