Team Girls Cup Kicks Off Super Pre-Season Of Netball

VIC Premier

Super Netball fans won’t have to wait long to see their favourite teams in action in 2022, with the Suncorp Team Girls Cup pre-season tournament locked in for 25-27 February at Victoria’s home of netball in Parkville.

Minister for Tourism, Sport and Major Events Martin Pakula today announced all eight Suncorp Super Netball teams will come together in Melbourne for the three-day tournament, made possible by support from the Andrews Labor Government.

The Cup is a round-robin tournament showcasing many of the world’s best netballers under the one roof.

Teams will be divided into two pools for a total of 16 games – with shorter 10-minute quarters – played over four sessions and concluding with playoff finals.

Fans can also head to the Team Girls Cup activation zone featuring player appearances, food outlets, giveaways and activities the whole family can enjoy.

The event follows close on the heels of the Melbourne Vixens Fan Festival in Gippsland on 11-13 February, where the Melbourne Vixens will take on the Adelaide Thunderbirds for two games and run several community events and clinics.

The Team Girls Cup and the Melbourne Vixens Fan Festival have been made possible by the Victorian Government’s Significant Sporting Events Program.

Since December 2014, the program has locked in more than 460 events for Victoria and is supporting the return of events to Australia’s sporting capital.

General tickets go on sale from Monday, 7 February. For further information visit ticketek.com.au.
