A teenage boy has been charged after a string of alleged aggravated break and enters in Sydney’s metro.
In August 2026, Strike Force Sweetenham – North West Metropolitan commenced investigations into a spate of break and enters in restaurants and cafes.
Police will allege between Thursday 13 August 2026 to Tuesday 18 August 2026, five people broke into 12 commercial properties in Waterloo, Ultimo, Alexandria, North Sydney and Glebe.
The stolen items approximately worth a total of $22,300.
Following inquiries, about 10.40am on Tuesday 18 August 2026, a cash register believed to be linked the incidents was allegedly located and seized for forensic examination.
Following extensive investigations, investigators a 17-year-old boy was served a Court Attendance Notice Charged with:
– Aggravated break and enter commit serious indictable offence (seven counts)
– Aggravated break and enter dwelling etc in company intend steal less than $60K (two counts)
– Attempt aggravated break and enter commit serious indictable offence (two counts)
– Aggravated enter dwelling in company intent to steal less than $60000
– Larceny value less than $2000
– Participate criminal group contribute criminal activity
He is set to appear before a children’s court on Monday 14 September 2026.
Investigations under Strike Force Sweetenham are ongoing.
