Teen seriously injured in crash; police seek driver at Albury, NSW

Police are seeking public assistance to identify the driver of a car involved in a crash in the state’s Murray River region overnight, which has left a teenage boy seriously injured.

About 1.40am today (Wednesday 2 March 2022), emergency services were called to Prune Street, Lavington, and found a Ford Falcon sedan had left the road and hit a tree, a letterbox and fence.

Police have been told the occupants of the sedan removed the numberplates after the crash, before fleeing on foot.

A teenaged boy presented to Albury Base Hospital soon after, suffering significant facial and head injuries.

Officers from Murray River Police District established a crime scene and have commenced inquiries to locate the driver and two passengers of the vehicle, as well as the circumstances surrounding the crash.
