Teenager charged over stabbing at Hillston, NSW

Police have charged a teenager after he allegedly stabbed a man in the state’s Riverina region last night.

About 10pm (Saturday 8 August), emergency services were called to a home on Moore Street, Hillston, after reports a man had been stabbed.

Police will allege the 27-year-old man was stabbed in the stomach by a teenage boy during an altercation outside the front of the home.

The injured man was taken to Griffith Base Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Officers from Murrumbidgee Police District commenced an investigation into the incident.

Following inquiries, police arrested a 17-year-old boy at a home at Hillston about 12.20am today (Sunday 9 August 2020).

The youth was taken to Griffith Police Station and charged with wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and resist officer in execution of duty.

He was refused bail and is due to appear at a children’s court today (Sunday 9 August 2020).
