Teenager charged over theft of firearms at Peak Hill, NSW

A teenage boy has been charged following an investigation into the theft of firearms from a property in the state’s Central West.

About 2am on Sunday 21 February 2021, a property on Ingalba Street, Peak Hill, was broken into and several rifles were reported stolen from a safe.

Ammunition and a Suzuki RM250 2000 trailbike were also taken during the break-in.

Officers attached to Central West Police District attended and established a crime scene.

Following inquiries, police arrested a 16-year-old boy at Forbes about 4pm last Friday (26 February 2021).

He was taken to Parkes Police Station and charged with two counts of aggravated break and enter in company, possess unauthorised firearm, and enter building/ land with intent commit indictable offence.

He was granted conditional bail at a children’s court on Saturday (27 February 2021) and will reappear before a children’s court on Tuesday 6 April 2021.
