Teenager Charged With Murder After Stabbing At Taree

A teenage boy has been charged following an alleged stabbing in the state’s north earlier this week.

About 4.45am on Monday 6 July 2026, emergency services were called to a house on Ronald Road following reports of a stabbing.

Officers attached to Manning/Great Lakes Police District arrived to find a 36-year-old man with critical injuries.

The man was treated by responding police officers and NSW Ambulance paramedics; however, he died at the scene.

Crime scenes were established on Ronald Road, which underwent forensic examination.

An investigation into the incident commenced, with assistance from the State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad, under Strike Force Hexalon.

Following inquiries, about 2.55pm yesterday (Wednesday 8 July 2026), officers arrested a 16-year-old boy at an address in Taree.

He was taken to Taree Police Station, where he was charged with murder.

The 16-year-old was refused bail to appear before a Children’s Court today (Thursday 9 July 2026).
