A teenage girl has died in hospital after being struck by a vehicle in the Southern Highlands last night.
About 10.20pm (Friday 15 January 2021), emergency services responded to reports two pedestrians had been hit by a Toyota Corolla on the Old Hume Highway at Mittagong.
Police have been told a vehicle had stopped on the roadway and two teenagers got out before being struck by the Toyota.
A 16-year-old girl was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics for serious head injuries, before being airlifted to Liverpool Hospital, where she died today (Saturday 16 January 2020).
A 16-year-old boy was treated at the scene for leg injuries and taken by ambulance to Liverpool Hospital, where he remains in a stable condition.
Officers from The Hume Police District are continuing inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
