Temporary changes to City of Gold Coast services

The City of Gold Coast has today made the decision to temporarily halt some services to help slow the spread of COVID-19 both within our workforce and the wider community.

Public libraries, aquatic centres and some customer service centres will all cease operations at close of business today until further notice.

The City’s indoor sports venues and gyms have also closed in line with the Australian Government’s announcement last night.

Mayor Tom Tate said these were tough decisions and were not made lightly.

“Right now the health of our community is our priority. Tough decisions are needed right now to protect our community from this disease which is spreading across the world,” Mayor Tate said.

“By closing some of our venues we are promoting social distancing which is paramount to beating this disease.
