With the reconstruction of Hocking Street commencing, Hocking Street will be closed to traffic as from Monday 18 September 2023 until further notice.
The extent of the closure will be from Memorial Drive through to Firebrace Street.
The attached signage will be in place to notify road users of this closure. There will be some additional detour signage in place as well along O’Callaghan’s Parade and Baker Street.
When the project is completed, Hocking Street will remain a two-way, straight road connecting O’Callaghans Parade and the bottom end of Firebrace Street.
However parking will be significantly improved with sealed parking bays, upgraded drainage, pedestrian crossings and footpaths on both sides of the street.
