Ten charged with drug supply at Parramatta music festival, NSW

Police have charged ten people with drug supply after a Parramatta music festival today.

Officers from Parramatta Police Area Command, with assistance from various police from the North West Metropolitan area, along with the Dog Unit, established a high-visibility operation at Ultra Music Festival, held at Parramatta Park on Sunday 24 February 2019.

During the event, which attracted over 20,500 people, 395 person searches were conducted, with 98 drug detections made during the operation for cannabis, cocaine, and MDMA.

Twenty-nine revellers were issued Criminal Infringement Notices, 28 for possession of MDMA, and one for cocaine, along with 13 cannabis cautions.

Forty-five charges were laid, including 10 for supply prohibited drug.

A further 35 people were refused entry to the festival, and 66 were removed during the event.

Ten people were taken to Westmead Hospital by ambulance, all of which are believed to be in a stable condition.
