- $12 million Cook Labor Government project to be completed by 2028
A new early childhood education block is a step closer for staff and students at Cowaramup Primary School, with the tender for construction now open.
The $12 million Cook Labor Government project will deliver a singlestorey, five-classroom block comprising two kindergarten and three preprimary classrooms, along with shared spaces.
Designed by MCG Architects, the facilities will help accommodate the school’s growing population.
Following the tender release, the building contract is expected to be awarded in early 2027, with the project anticipated to be completed in 2028.
The significant project, which was a 2025 election commitment, forms part of the Cook Labor Government’s record investment of more than $6.4 billion in education infrastructure across the State.
As stated by Education Minister Sabine Winton:
“Our government is committed to delivering high-quality education infrastructure for Western Australian families, close to where they live.
“This major upgrade will provide welcoming, state-of the art facilities for Cowaramup Primary School’s youngest learners, giving them the best possible start to their education.
“These new facilities will be an important addition to the school, and I look forward to seeing the project progress.”
As stated by Jackie Jarvis MLC:
“Cowaramup is a growing community, and I have no doubt these upgrades will be warmly welcomed by local families.
“The new classrooms will give the school’s youngest students the space to learn, play and grow.”
