Terrigal Boardwalk and Rockpool open

The Central Coast has a new attraction for tourists and locals with the opening of the Terrigal Boardwalk and an upgraded rockpool.

The project has been jointly funded by Central Coast Council and the NSW Government’s Restart NSW Regional Growth Environment and Tourism Fund, and the Crown Reserves Improvement Fund.

The 277-metre-long boardwalk, which links The Haven to Terrigal’s town centre, features a viewing platform, integrated seating, lighting, access to rock platforms and is integrated with existing walkways.

The boardwalk has been designed to withstand the natural elements and ensure ease of maintenance.

Access to the restored rockpool has also been improved via a ramp and new pathways linking it with the boardwalk and beach promenade.

Central Coast Council CEO David Farmer said the boardwalk and rockpool will deliver social, health and economic benefits for the community.

“The Terrigal Boardwalk and upgraded rockpool will deliver a great visitor drawcard to boost the region’s economy while providing a safe and inclusive space for social connection and to encourage active lifestyles,” Mr Farmer said.

The opening of the new attraction will support regional tourism for local businesses as they recover from the impacts of COVID-19.
