The Infrastructure Fund (TIF), managed by Macquarie Asset Management (MAM), and Australian Retirement Trust (ART) today completed the sale of their combined 9.14% interest in Perth Airport, comprising TIF’s 7.19% and ART’s 1.95% shareholdings, to existing co-shareholder AustralianSuper.
Perth Airport is Western Australia’s primary aviation gateway, connecting the state to domestic and international markets and servicing a substantial fly-in, fly-out workforce supporting the resources sector.
TIF has been an investor in Perth Airport since 2001, during which time annual passenger volumes have grown from approximately 7 million passengers in FY06 to record volumes of over 18 million passengers in FY26.
MAM, as Investment Manager of TIF, has supported Perth Airport’s development since its appointment in late 2018, working in close collaboration with TIF’s co-shareholders, the airport and its stakeholders. Over the past three years, Perth Airport has executed a new long-term Aeronautical Services Agreement with Qantas, expanded connectivity through new and enhanced services including to Johannesburg, Auckland, Manila and Tokyo, and continued delivery of its multi-billion-dollar One Airport capital programme.
MAM, together with TIF’s co-shareholders, has also supported Perth Airport’s sustainability agenda and long-term value creation. In 2026, Perth Airport retained a GRESB score of 100 points for the fifth consecutive year, maintaining both its 5-Star rating and leading status in the airport sector.
Ani Satchcroft, Co-Head of Infrastructure, Asia-Pacific at Macquarie Asset Management, said: “Drawing on more than two decades of experience investing in airports, MAM has leveraged its global expertise to support Perth Airport’s continued growth and development, while delivering strong returns for TIF investors.”
“Over the course of our involvement, and alongside TIF’s co-shareholders, Perth Airport strengthened its position as a leading aviation gateway, expanded connectivity, and delivered enduring benefits for Western Australian businesses and communities.”
Michael Weaver, General Manager, Mid Risk Assets at Australian Retirement Trust, said: “ART regularly reviews its investment portfolio to buy or sell assets in order to support members’ long-term retirement outcomes.”
“Perth Airport has made a significant contribution to support jobs, economic activity, and essential services in Australia. ART will continue to invest in local assets when it is in members’ best financial interests.”
