Early bird ticket sales begin today ahead of the October 24, 2026, reopening of THE MOVEUM YOKOHAMA, featuring the new exhibition The Impressionist Artist Monet and Ukiyo-e: The Beauty of Japan That Captivated Monet.
Toyota City, Japan, September 24, 2026―Last December, the Toyota Group, inspired by Yokohama’s history and the city’s vision for a “City of Cultural and Artistic Creation,” opened THE MOVEUM YOKOHAMA by TOYOTA GROUP (“THE MOVEUM YOKOHAMA”)*1 at Yamashita Pier as a venue offering “MOVE” through both movement and emotion. Visitors enjoyed an immersive experience combining stunning visuals and music in a vast space.
With this reopening, THE MOVEUM YOKOHAMA will launch a new program, The Impressionist Artist Monet and Ukiyo-e: The Beauty of Japan That Captivated Monet, on Saturday, October 24, 2026. This program focuses on the innovative artistic expressions created by ukiyo-e artists, including Katsushika Hokusai, and explores their influence on the Impressionist painter Claude Monet.
In addition, Toyota’s e-Palette*2 will provide transportation from the Yamashita Pier entrance to the venue at Shed No. 4. Building on the mobility experience that was well received by many visitors last time, automated driving trials are also planned for this reopening.
In addition to immersive art exhibitions, THE MOVEUM YOKOHAMA will offer art activities and workshops, and introduce the Toyota Group’s cultural activities. By creating a space for cultural exchange open to the local community, Toyota aims to broaden opportunities for cultural experiences and generate synergies throughout the Yokohama area.
The Toyota Group aims to go beyond simply providing transportation to deliver “MOVE” that touches people’s hearts, thereby creating new opportunities for inspiration and learning through culture.
