Third man charged after affray, NSW

A third man has been charged as investigations continue into a brawl in Sydney’s west last week.

About 10.10pm on Friday (28 August 2020), police were called to Wigram Street, Harris Park, following reports of a large group of men fighting.

Upon arrival, officers attached to Parramatta Police Area Command, assisted by Cumberland Police Area Command and the Operations Support Group, dispersed the group.

NSW Ambulance paramedics treated one man, aged 33, for minor head injuries after he was punched and knocked to the ground. No other injuries were reported.

Two men – aged 30 and 33 – were charged earlier this week and remain before the courts.

Following further inquiries, detectives arrested a 19-year-old man at Parramatta Police Station about 7pm yesterday (Thursday 3 September 2020).

He was charged with use carriage service to menace/harass/offend.

The Wentworthville man was granted strict conditional bail to appear at Parramatta Local Court on Wednesday 7 October 2020.

As investigations continue, police are conducting high-visibility proactive patrols of the area and appealing for anyone with information, or who was in the area at the time, to come forward.

Anyone with information about this incident is urged to contact Crime Stoppers: 1800 333 000 or https://nsw.crimestoppers.com.au. Information is treated in strict confidence.
