Police arrested three people yesterday in Melbourne’s western suburbs as part of an investigation into drug trafficking.
Detectives from the Illicit Firearms squad and Taskforce VIPER executed warrants at two business premises in Altona North and a residential property in Altona.
A 42-year-old Altona North man, a 51-year-old Altona North man, and a 40-year-old Altona woman were arrested and interviewed by police.
The 42-year-old man was charged with handle stolen goods, Firearm Prohibition Order holder fail to update address within 24 hours and commit indictable offence whilst on bail.
He has been bailed to appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on 22 January 2027.
The 51-year-old man has been charged with possess firearm contrary to Firearm Prohibition Order, possess drug of dependence, handle stolen goods, Firearm Prohibition Order holder fail to update address within 24 hours, and commit indictable offence whilst on bail.
He was remanded in custody to appear on 23 November.
The woman was charged with possess drug of dependence, possess prohibited weapon, possess imitation firearm, and possess proceeds of crime.
She has been bailed to appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on 22 January 2027.
Police also seized a range of items from the addresses including drugs believed to be methylamphetamine, a firearm, an imitation firearm, knives, fraudulent identification, stolen number plates, a stolen drone, and a large quantity of cash.
The investigation remains ongoing.
As part of this investigation, a 44-year-old Spotswood man was arrested on 5 June at his property on Hudsons Road.
He was subsequently charged with a range of offences including traffick commercial quantity of methylamphetamine, use firearm in contravention of firearms prohibition order, prohibited person use a firearm, discharge firearm at premises, deal with property suspected proceeds of crime and several drug possession offences.
