Three charged over alleged domestic violence-related assault – North Albury

Two adults and a teenager have been charged following an alleged domestic violence-related assault in the state’s south.

Just after 8.40pm on Thursday (12 September 2024), emergency services were called to North Street, North Albury, following reports of an assault.

Officers attached to Murray River Police District found a man and a woman suffering facial and hand injuries after they were allegedly assaulted by three people armed with knives. The group left the scene in a black sedan before police arrived.

The man and woman, both aged 19, were treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics at the scene before being taken to Albury Base Hospital. They’ve since been released.

Police established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the incident. Information provided indicated all five people were known to each other.

Following inquiries, police arrested a 20-year-old man when he attended Albury Police Station, about 7.40pm on Friday (13 September 2024).

He has been charged with two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm in company of others (DV), and use etc offensive weapon in company with intent to indictable offence. The man, from Wodonga, been granted conditional bail to appear before Albury Local Court on Tuesday (24 September 2024).

The following day, a 20-year-old woman and a 17-year-old boy were also arrested at Albury Police Station about 2.30pm (Saturday 14 September 2024).

The woman, from Wodonga, has been charged with two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm in company of others (DV), and use etc offensive weapon in company with intent to indictable offence. She was also granted conditional bail to appear in Albury Local Court on Tuesday (22 October 2024).

The teenage boy has been charged with two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm in company of others (DV), one count of use etc offensive weapon in company with intent to indictable offence, and one count of possess/ attempt to, prescribed restricted substance. He’s been refused bail to appear before a children’s court today (Sunday 15 September 2024).
