Three injured in public place shooting at Greenacre

Three people have been injured in a public place shooting in Greenacre this morning.

Emergency services were called to Mayvic Street shortly after 2.15am (Sunday 23 July 2023), responding to reports three people – sitting in two parked cars – had been injured.

NSW Ambulance paramedics have treated a man found injured in one parked vehicle, as well as a man and woman in a separate parked vehicle. All have been taken to hospital, their conditions are unknown.

About five minutes after the shooting, a vehicle was reported alight in Amy Street, Regents Park; inquiries are underway to determine if the incidents are linked. The car fire spread to a wooden fence and tree with Fire and Rescue NSW teams attending to extinguish the blaze.

Crime scenes have been established in Greenacre and Regents Park and an investigation has commenced by officers attached to Auburn Police Area Command.

Detectives are appealing for anyone who was in the vicinity of either location between 2am and 2.30am and has information or dashcam vision they believe to be relevant to the investigation to contact Auburn Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
