Three men charged following kidnapping and aggravated burglary in Doncaster

Three men have been charged following an investigation by Manningham Crime Investigation Unit detectives into an alleged kidnapping, aggravated burglary and serious assault in Doncaster last month.

The trio, a 34 and 40-year-old from Clyde and a 40-year-old from Noble Park, have each been charged with intentionally cause injury, recklessly cause injury, use knife in the commission of cause injury intentionally/recklessly, armed robbery, theft, kidnapping, false Imprisonment, home invasion-person present, without authorisation enter private place and possess other drug of dependence.

The charges follow an incident on 22 September where it is alleged a man and woman were assaulted and restrained at a public location near Doncaster.

The pair, aged 21 and 29-years-old, were then taken to their Doncaster Road home which was allegedly ransacked and items stolen – before the offenders fled the scene.

The man was seriously injured and taken to hospital, where he underwent surgery.

Detectives arrested the men following the execution of search warrants across Melbourne’s south-east in Clyde and Noble Park yesterday.

Investigators also seized a vehicle believed to have been used during the alleged offending, along with several other exhibits.

The trio were remanded overnight to appear before Melbourne Magistrates’ Court today.
