Three youths reported for grass fires, South Australia

Three youths will face court after starting a number of grass fires in the Southern Suburbs yesterday.

About 5.25am Tuesday 15 December police and fire crews were called to Mariner Driver, Sheidow Park after reports of a grass fire. When emergency services arrived they found that a small campfire had seemingly got out of control and burned approximately 25m2 of grass in the Sheidow Creek area. No persons were found in the area at this time.

Later, about 9.10pm, police and fire fighters were called to a number of small grass fires near a footpath on Quailo Avenue at Hallett Cove. Witnesses reported seeing three youths run from the scene.

The fire was extinguished and police patrols searched the area locating teenaged boys near Patpa Drive. The teens, a 15-year-old from Sheidow Park, 15-year-old from Morphett Vale and 14-year-old from Happy Valley, were all reported and will be summonsed to Court at a later date.
