Time EP – new release from blue mountains duo, Piperlain

SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA – Piperlain’s latest release, Time, is a four track EP of songs written during different points in the early collaboration between artists Benjamin Knight and Rebecca Voorn-Knight.

The Time EP spans the formative years of collaboration between Ben and Bec as they started to collaborate, each bringing their collective musical influences and styles to create the Piperlain sound. The songs carry universal themes and are described as often quirky, with threads of haunting and meaningful lyrics.

Time, the lead single from the EP, is a whimsical and upbeat tune that taps into the transient and sometimes illusive nature of time.

“Whilst it’s an upbeat song, the deeper meaning that I wanted the song to convey was that sometimes we can put self-imposed barriers and constraints on ourselves because of conceptions around time,” says Rebecca Voorn-Knight.

“It’s also about the desire to be freed from the inevitable, which is that everything is time bound”.

The EP carries the folk/rock/pop style that fans can expect – a punchy opening with Time followed by a touch of frivolity in Cruel World. The EP then takes listeners deeper into a journey of eclectic, rock/pop soulfulness with the track Deceived and closes on a hauntingly diabolical love tune called Taken.

Recorded at MusicPro studios by engineer Paul Iannuzzelli and mastered at Abbey Road Studios in London by engineer Geoff Pesche, the EP was co-produced by Paul Iannuzzelli and Ben Knight.

The Time EP is the first release for Piperlain since the Mother Mourned concept album received positive reviews in 2017. The EP can be streamed on Spotify and
