The Institute will host Tokyo Tech Festival 2021, originally scheduled for October 30 and 31 on Ookayama Campus, in an online environment due to the effects of COVID-19. The decision to protect the health and safety of festivalgoers and members of participating organizations was made after the Tokyo Tech Festival committee, the student body in charge of the event, evaluated the situation and conducted relevant discussions with the Institute.
Despite the obstacles, organizers are keen to share the latest Tokyo Tech updates with the broader community, particularly because the annual celebration was canceled in 2019 due to poor weather, and then again in 2020 due to the pandemic. Traditionally attracting tens of thousands of visitors to Ookayama Campus, the Tokyo Tech Festival in 2021 will provide participants with rare glimpses of cutting-edge research and campus life through virtual open labs, student club introductions, and other online activities.
