Toowoomba City Library Community Meeting Rooms open for extra midweek, after-hours bookings

Community groups can book midweek, after-hours functions at the Toowoomba City Library Community Meeting Rooms, in addition to existing operating hours, until September 30 this year.

Toowoomba Regional Council Library and Cultural Services portfolio leader Cr Tim McMahon said a preliminary review of feedback, that was submitted on the use of the Community Meeting Rooms, indicated strong support for after-hours use, particularly from Tuesday to Thursday night.

Cr McMahon said Council received more than 140 responses to the recent survey around the demand for the use of the Community Meeting Rooms.

“Council acknowledges the uncertainty that existed for user groups that wished to make after-hours bookings from July this year and will consider a full report on the survey findings before June 30,” Cr McMahon said.

“It’s apparent from the results that community groups are keen to book the rooms for after- hours functions, particularly on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evening, mostly in line with pre-covid meeting schedules.
