Touring Queensland Regional Art Awards from 2020 at Rosalie Gallery

Thirty finalists in the 2020 Queensland Regional Art Awards will be on display at Rosalie Gallery at Goombungee as part of the Decadence touring exhibition, presented by Flying Arts Alliance.

Toowoomba Region artist Cara-Ann Simpson was chosen as one of the 30 finalists and has her work on display as part of the tour.

The exhibition showcases the visual responses of artists from regional, rural and remote Queensland to the theme of Decadence, contending with notions of luxury, freedom, happy circumstances and welcome surplus, or the darker side of self-indulgence, wanton excess or wastefulness.

Ipswich artist LeAnne Vincent won the major $10,000 Art for Life Award, thanks to Holding Redlich, and the Spotlight Award, thanks to Onespace Gallery and art words, for her artwork Flourish, which explores the idea that botanic growth is made richer from the decadence of other plants.

LeAnne says she will be pleased to see her award-winning piece tour to regional Queensland.
