Sarah Courtney,Minister for Tourism, Hospitality and Events

In great news for local businesses. the Tassie Holiday Voucher program saw more than 10,000 people register within the first four hours, with three more days left to register.

The program is a joint initiative of the Tasmanian and Federal Governments aimed at encouraging interstate travellers from Queensland, Western Australia and South Australia to come and experience all Tasmania has to offer.

The vouchers launched at 9am yesterday morning with more than 2,000 registrations within the first 10 minutes, and 10,000 by the early afternoon.

The program will provide residents of these interstate markets with the opportunity to receive a $300 voucher towards their holiday to Tasmania between the 4th November and 31st December 2021.

Once all registrations are complete on the 2nd November, 10000 vouchers will be issued via a ballot, with successful recipients booking their travel and redeeming the voucher discount through a Tassie Holiday Voucher online marketplace.

Tasmania’s vibrant tourism industry adds millions to our economy and supports thousands of jobs around the State, particularly in regional areas and this voucher program will bring attention to our spectacular products and destinations to encourage visitation.
