Transport to treatment services for cancer patients in the Bunbury region just got a whole lot roomier, following a generous upgrade of a new car from Raymond Jones and the Jones family Bunbury Kia, as well as the Car Dealers and Friends.

Cancer Council WA’s Cancer Information and Support Services Director, Melanie Marsh, said Cancer Council WA was extremely grateful to Raymond, Bunbury Kia and the Car Dealers and Friends.

“The new Kia Stonic’s increased size will allow extra room for patients’ walkers and wheelchairs,” Ms Marsh said.

“This will enable staff and volunteers at Dot’s Place in Bunbury to continue Cancer Council WA’s much valued Transport to Treatment service which provides transport to cancer patients in the Bunbury area who would otherwise experience difficulty getting to essential medical appointments.”

“One of our goals is to make life easier for cancer patients and their families and already this new car has made a huge difference to both staff and patients by providing extra room, comfort and mobility.”

“If it weren’t for the generosity of individuals and businesses like Raymond Jones and the Jones family Bunbury Kia, as well as the Car Dealers and Friends, who have been supporting Cancer Council WA for more than 20 years, we wouldn’t be able to continue to do what we do, which is to lessen the impact of cancer on those affected.”

Raymond Jones said that they were delighted to be able to continue to support Cancer Council WA.

“Cancer is something that affects everyone’s family at some stage, so we are happy to continue supporting an organisation that in turn supports so many in our community,” Mr Jones said.

“People in Bunbury are familiar with Dot’s Place and the amazing staff there that go out of their way to help others so really it’s just our way of giving back.”
