Travel Buyers and Operators Flock to Red Centre

The annualinternational Inbound NT three day eventcommences today, 4 September 2019 providing NT operators the opportunity tomeet face-to-face with up to 30 product managers from key inbound tour operatorpartners working across the NTs global markets.

Held in AliceSprings, Inbound NT is run alongside Tourism NTs bi-annual Adventure NT event which brings 30targeted Chinese buyers to the NT.

The productmanagers and international buyers will participate in pre and postfamiliarisations of the Northern Territory with the generous support ofQantas.

A total of eightfamiliarisations will take in some of the NTs best tourism experiences fromworld class National Parks to our unique tourism product and our spectacularevents calendar.

Inbound NT andAdventure NT are being held on adjacent days to maximise the opportunity for NToperators to meet with all buyers in a compressed timeframe and withindestination.

The Inbound NTdelegates will today enjoy a welcome event at the Earth Sanctuary in AliceSprings with all delegates participating in the Qantas Gala dinner at TheQuarry tomorrow, Thursday 5 September 2019 followed by an Outback BallooningExperience.

As part of thefamiliarisation program in Alice Springs Chinese buyers will be hosted at anAdventure NT event at the Alice Springs Desert Park during the Red Centre BirdFestival which is on from 4 to 6 September 2019, as well as the Desert MobExhibition and Marketplace, a comprehensive survey of contemporary Aboriginalart by artists from across the desert regions and communities of CentralAustralia, which commences on 5 September 2019 at the Araluen Arts Centre.

Qantas are sponsoring the events in support of the Territorys tourismindustry, assisting key trade partners to attend and will be presenting to boththe Inbound NT and Adventure NT delegates on Qantas Flight routes to, from andaround the Northern Territory.

Inbound NT andAdventure NT follow Tourism NTs annual domestic trade familiarisation andworkshop event, NT Round Up which cameto a close yesterday.

Showcasing theTerritory to 40 domestic and New Zealand delegates including frontline travelagents, wholesalers and product managers, the delegates were in the NT from 29August to 3 September 2019, travelling from Darwin via Katherine beforereaching the Red Centre on The Ghan courtesy of Journey Beyond.

The NT Round Up delegates toured around Katherine and Alice Springs, providingfirsthand experiences and opportunities to meet with tourism operators enablingthe delegates to better sell the NT.

As stated byDeputy CEO Department of Tourism, Sport and Culture Andrew Hopper:

These key trade events providea perfect opportunity for business engagement and showcasing of our world classtourism experiences, both important to ensuring that product buyers anddistribution partners further increase our exposure in international tourismdistribution programs, Mr Hopper said.

The NorthernTerritory Governments Turbocharging Tourism initiative is providing a boost tothe Territory economy as we continue to drive visitation and boost our domesticand international marketing ensuring the NT is well represented in the highlycompetitive global tourism market.
