TRC to launch Development.i online planning portal

Toowoomba Regional Council (TRC) will next week launch the new online planning portal Development.i to replace PD Online.

TRC Planning and Development Portfolio Chair Cr Megan O’Hara Sullivan said the new portal would provide the same information in a much more user-friendly way.

“Development.i is a planning portal that was developed by local government for local government.

“It will allow TRC to continue to improve transparency and community participation in the development assessment process which is key to Council making good planning decisions.

“This information has always been available to the public, but Development.i will allow users easier access to that information.

“Development.i was developed by Sunshine Coast Regional Council and is now also used by a number of other local government areas including Brisbane City Council so we know it is tailor-made for TRC,” Cr O’Hara Sullivan said.

TRC Planning and Development Portfolio Lead Cr Bill Cahill said the functionality of Development.i would provide an enhanced customer experience.

“There’s no doubt Development.i will provide an improved experience for people to navigate and track development applications for the Toowoomba Region.

“It will allow users to search for a development application using the application number, location, address or via an interactive map built in to the portal.

“It has the capability to automatically keep users up to date on certain development applications by allowing users to register for notifications and I’m very much looking forward to seeing it launched and available via Council’s web site next week,” Cr Cahill said.
