Trees Tell Tall Tales

As part of the 2019 Art is… festival, a public art installation was established featuring seven trees in the Horsham area. These trees tell some tall tales, and despite the disruption, they are still keen to have an audience.

Two of the trees can be found in the Botanic Gardens, two at Adventure Island and three near Weir Park on the Wimmera River. For families with young children, the opportunity to stop and listen to the trees tell a story will provide a fun addition to outdoor exercise.

To access the specific locations of trees, people can visit www.artiswimmera.com The stories are unlocked with a unique QR code, which can be found on the plaque of each of the seven trees.

This permanent story telling trail was developed by the Art is… festival through partnership with the Wimmera Catchment Management Authority, Local Learning and Employment Network, Wimmera Regional Library Corporation, Horsham Rural City Council and local radio station 3WM and Mixx FM.

For an optimum story listening experience whilst observing social distancing, it is recommended that a Bluetooth speaker is taken along.
