Trio arrested running from stolen car in Kilsyth

Two men and a woman have been arrested after they fled from a stolen car in Kilsyth this morning.

Police first spotted the vehicle in the early hours of the morning when it was seen driving erratically and speeding through a number of suburbs including; Boronia, Kilsyth, Croydon and Ringwood.

The Air Wing assisted police units on the ground before the offenders were seen to dump the Holden Commodore and jump into another allegedly stolen car, a Volkswagen, in Kilsyth.

A short time later officers successfully deploy stop sticks at the intersection of Liverpool Road and Tereddan Drive, bringing the car to a stop.

The trio ran from the car but were arrested a short distance away.

Police dog ‘Ollie’ and his handler caught up with one of the offenders who was hiding up a tree.

The other two were arrested by uniformed officers after being found hiding in residential yards following a short foot pursuit.

The trio are currently assisting police with their enquiries.
