Truck driver dies in crash near Gunning, NSW

A truck driver has died following a crash near Gunning.

Emergency services were called to The Hume Highway, approximately five kilometres east of Gunning, about 4.40pm today (Tuesday 23 April 2019), after reports of a truck crash.

Officers from The Hume Police District attended and were told a northbound prime mover crashed into a B-double, which was broken down in lane one.

The impact caused the prime mover to catch alight. The driver died at the scene and has not been formally identified.

Officers from The Hume Police District have established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the incident.

The driver of the broken-down truck was not injured and is speaking with police.

Investigators are appealing for anyone who witnessed the crash to contact police.
