Tune in to Toddler Tuesday to brighten your day

Due to restrictions surrounding novel coronavirus (COVID-19), Sunshine Coast Council Libraries have created an online Toddler Tuesday program to provide families with young children literacy resources that are both fun and educational.

Community Portfolio Councillor David Law said Toddler Tuesday was a fun literacy program for parents, caregivers and toddlers that featured special guests each week.

“The sessions include library favourites like storytime, rhymetime, yoga and music classes which are full of engaging content that’s sure to put a smile on faces, young and old,” Cr Law said.

“This Tuesday (May 26) we were really excited to welcome special guest, Sunshine Coast Lightning player, Cara Koenen as our Toddler Tuesday host.

“Cara read her favourite book ‘Noni the Pony’ by Alison Lester and published by Allen and Unwin.

“To join in, visit Sunshine Coast Libraries Facebook page each Tuesday morning at 9.30am for a live Toddler Tuesday session.

“But don’t worry if you miss it, because the sessions, including this week’s special with Cara, are also available to view at any time that is convenient for you via the library website.

“Toddler Tuesday sessions aid in promoting the First 5 Forever program, an early literacy initiative funded by the Queensland Government and delivered by 320 public libraries across Queensland.”
